What we do

Beavers are young people aged 6 to 8 years old who meet up each week in groups called Beaver Colonies. At Eccleston we currently have two Colonies, one on Tuesday evenings, the other on Friday.

At Beavers, you'll be able to:

  • Learn new skills and try new things
  • Make lots of new friends
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Help others and make a difference in their communities

Alongside our weekly meetings we often go on trips out on weekends or special events on other weekday evenings, such as our annual trip to Manley Mere. You can see blogs from the trips that our Beavers have been on here.

Who leads Beavers?

Each of our colonies is lead by an adult Beaver Leader, alongside a few Assistant Beaver Leaders with some occasional help from other volunteers such as parents.

Not only our young people strive to earn awards, our leaders work to various awards available, the main one being the wood badge. All of our leaders must go through lots of training, and once it's all done they get their wood beads and wood badge.

Meeting Times

We now have two Beaver colonies who meet on:

Tuesdays 5:30pm - 6:45pm

Fridays 5:30pm - 6:45pm

We meet weekly during school term time, alongside occassional weekends for events and activies.

Join Beavers

At the moment we have a waiting list for beavers. Just fill in the form at the link below and one of our leaders will be in touch as soon as there's a place available.

Our leaders

All of our leaders are trained volunteers who run the group and make sure our beaver colony is always a fun and safe place to be.

We're always looking for adults to come along and help whether it's visiting occasionally to share your skills or to help run the Colony week in, week out. No matter how much time you have to spare, see how it works for you...
